Samsung Smartphones Can Now Be Used To Unlock Your PC
Samsung’s Flow app has been updated to enable
users to unlock their Windows 10 PC using the fingerprint reader on their phone.
Rather than typing their password, Samsung
Galaxy owners may now scan their fingerprint on their phone to login.
This is thanks in part to Microsoft’s “Hello”
login system, which was originally only compatible with Microsoft powered
smartphones but has now been extended to all device-makers.
This is part of a broader move to link
smartphones to laptops and desktops throughout the industry.
In addition to Samsung’s Flow, Apple has
released “Continuity” which offers a similar feature set including copying and
pasting between devices, making cell phone calls from your computer, and so on.
